Touch 'n Ghosts v0.60 (Alpha version)


Hi everyone,

Here is the 0.60 version of Touch 'n Ghosts, a mobile and PC game in development.

The most important change is the addition of the combo mechanic, which should bring an interesting Risk vs Reward dimension to the core-gameplay. The other changes that have been introduced are listed in the Change log.

v0.6 - Objectives

  • Add some core mechanics, in order to play test and get some feedback.
  • Improve the technical baseline, in order to be ready to extend content and features. 

Change log

  1. Gameplay and Game Mechanics
    1. Combos have been added. Combo can be performed by purging multiple ghosts in a certain timeframe using swipe gestures / input. Performing combos grants an increasing score multiplier.
    2. Record Score has been added and should be saved accross sessions. Saving should work on all browers except the ones with specific restrictions (such as Brave/Tor).
  2. Look and Feel
    1. Sounds - BGM and SFX have been reworked, with new BGM and improved SFX
    2. Visual effects - Some basic camera effects and animations have been added.
    3. Tutorial - The temporary tutorial has been slightly extended, to inform a bit more about gameplay. It's temporary, and so, very basic.
  3. Technical baseline
    1. Controls - Complete rework of the input management, which is now able to support different types of input and gestures with a high-level of configuration. Changes should be transparent for the user. Controls still have to be polished through gameplay sessions.
    2. Graphics - All graphics are now separated assets, allowing rooms to be generated according to some settings.

Known-issues

  1.  When losing the last health point, the animation and SFX do not play properly.
